Restarting a backed-up WordPress site

    I had a WordPress website using a Monstroid template running for 3 years with my own domain but decided to take it down. Before I took it down I backed it up. Now I would like to get it back up and running again. Can I upload the backed-up folder? Is there instructions for doing this? Thanks in advance.

    Was the site hosted here at WordPress.com, or was it hosted on another web host? Also, how did you backup the site?
