  When I try to log in to my account, which I haven’t used in a long time, I get:
  “mikemoum.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.”
  I tried to start a new one with “mikemoum”, but it tells me it’s not available. Is there any way I can reactive the account?

  Unfortunately, once you delete a blog, it can not be recovered.

  WordPress.com has a very strict policy on deleted blogs, and they make no exceptions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Thanks, senff. That’s what I suspected, but I wante confirmation. I’ll just come up with a new name.

  You can register another .wordpress.com blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
