How do I restore Classic Editor? I dislike Gutenberg so much I’m about to quit WordPress

If you click that “three dots” menu at the top-right when writing your post, you’ll find the option to switch back at the bottom: https://cld.wthms.co/zbgzJa

One thing to keep in mind though, the Classic Editor will likely be replaced eventually. Because of this, I generally recommend sticking with the new editor, but using the Classic Block as desired: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

The “three dots” symbol on my screen doesn’t offer that option. I can’t install plug-ins without upgrading to the Business Plan (a little extortion, eh, WP?). This “classic block” option seems to be my best alternative. Thanks. I’m going to start exploring alternatives to WordPress. This is ridiculous.

@yadadarcyyada right now I see the classic editor is enabled at https://wordpress.com/post — are you looking for the editor at https://yadadarcyyada.com/wp-admin/post-new.php instead?

Just want to go back to Classic Editor (or back to the amazing Editor you had in 2013, I wish) until we’re forced to have to use Gutenberg, by then I’ll be long gone with all these horrible ads ruining our posts.

@yadadarcyyada please test https://wordpress.com/post and https://yadadarcyyada.com/wp-admin/post-new.php to see which one you prefer.

Both are set to the most classic versions available at this point.

I’m kind of new to wordpress, but it seems to me that the block editor is missing tons of features that the classic editor already had. Why would you guys eliminate the ability for users to use this?

It’s a continual work in progress. The classic editor is very much still available if you prefer to use that option.
