  how can I restore an accidentally trashed comment?

  Trashed comments get permanently deleted and cannot be restored.

  Hi there!

  It is possible to restore the trashed comments.

  Please be aware that files in the trash are automatically deleted after 30 days.

  Note: The instructions from this guide are referring to the WP Admin dashboard. You can get to this dashboard by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site’s url (e.g.: example.wordpress.com/wp-admin)

  Comments have their own trash folders. They are located in the WP Admin dashboard.
  Enter the Trash status/folder of your comment section and place your cursor over any item you wish to restore. You will see two linked options: Restore and Delete Permanently. Click on the Restore link:

  The item should then be removed from the Trash folder/status, and you will receive a message that the restoration was successful.
