Restore deleted authors
-
Hi,
Hope you are well,
I accidently deleted a list of authors, I was able to find the restore button of the posts that we published under their names, but once I restore the posts, the author would become SMEX.
Is there a way we can restore the authors, before restoring the posts, so that we can go back as if it didn’t happen, every post has it’s correct author name, with the authors and posts both restored.Thank you,
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host smex.org on our WordPress.com managed hosting.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions. You can learn more about the performance and security benefits of our managed hosting here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at Greenhost. As a result we are not able to offer backups and historical data for sites hosted elsewhere. Of course, we would love to host your site here, where we we are happy to help further. But as it stands now, we can’t assist.
The good news is that your hosting provider may be able to help in this instance since they are usually responsible for backing up accounts they host. I recommend contacting Greenhost for further assistance since they are in the best position to help. Thanks!
After you have restored your site at Greenhost to normal working order, you are welcome to migrate your site to our WordPress.com managed hosting by using this plugin. The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. Jetpack version 7.9 or higher activated on the self-hosted site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ ThOnce you are hosted here, our daily and incremental backups (which you can accaess any time you wish) will have you covered from any future unexpected issues. Should anything come up that you are not able to resolve for yourself, you can use our in-house WordPress site support (with live chat option) to ask our Happiness Engineers for assistance. Thanks!
