  Hello! How can I restore my canceled domain? I have deleted my site but would like to use the domain elsewhere. I was unaware that I could have transferred it, so I would like to know if I can restore it and transfer it, or if WordPress will release the domain. It has been within the 7 day period.

  Are you speaking of poshbyrachel.com?

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all.

  In this case, your domain was cancelled outside of our 96-hour refund period, and it has since gone into redemption at our domain provider. We can still recover it from redemption for you, but we have to pay a $80 fee to get the domain out of redemption.

  Please confirm if you agree to that fee, and we can start the redemption process for you.

  Otherwise you can wait for the redemption process to end. That should be around 10 February, and the domain should be released a few days later. However, we cannot guarantee you’ll be able to register it again once it’s released – at that point anyone will be able to register it again, and if someone else registers it before you, they will become the new owner.
