Hi there,
When you cancel a new domain in this way, it can be registered again with a new company, but there is a delay of about 5 days before you are able to do so.
If you can afford to wait those 5 days I recommend it, as this will allow you to purchase your domain with the company you intend to host your site with.
If time is of the essence and you need use of the domain sooner we can recover it, but this will mean that you can’t transfer for 60 days, due to ICANN regulations controlling the transfer of domains between registrars.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks Jerry! When I look up my previous domain, the website says “this domain is parked.” Does that mean I could still potentially access it in 5 days, or what does it mean to be parked?

Hi there,
On WordPress.com, a domain showing as “parked” means the domain was either cancelled or has expired, but hasn’t been removed from our system yet.
If/when the domain will be released again depends on where exactly it is in its lifecycle, and that’s something only staff can see via our internal tools.
In this specific case with glory-revealed.com, this domain will be removed from our system and become available again for registration in a few more days. This is because it was cancelled within the refund period, so at the end of the refund period it’s automatically deleted at the registry, who then releases the domain into general availability again.
Let me know if you have any other questions about this, or if you’d like us to restore the domain to your WordPress.com account immediately rather than waiting for it to be released (which should happen some time over the weekend).
