    Hi there,

Canceling a domain means you might not be able to get it back Also, there is no guarantee that you will be able to register it some where else due to availability. Read more https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/cancel-domain/

Nevertheless, I have added “modlook” in the tags area of this thread for a staff to help you out. Be patient and you will be attended to shortly.

  • Hi there,

Do you want to still use the domain here on WordPress.com, or do you want to use it somewhere else? If you want to use it somewhere else, you should be able to register it with another provider again by early next week.

However, if you want to still use it on WordPress.com, perhaps with a different upgrade than the Business Plan, I can restore the domain and revert your site to how it was before you installed plugins. I’ll also need to restore the domain and revert your site if you still want to use the free address for your site, brittanyhewlko.wordpress.com

How would you like to proceed? Wait for the domain to be released, or restore the domain and revert the site back to the free plan?

I would like to transfer it to Bluehost but it says I have to wait 90 days. I thought if I could restore it to WordPress.com I could just point it to the new site for now.

What happened is I accidentally purchased a plan on wordpresss.com rather than WordPress.org

Is there anyway I can transfer the domain earlier?

Also when I go to http://www.brittanyhewlko.com my wordpress.com site still comes up however when I go into the back end I have no domains listed.

  • The waiting period to transfer a domain is 60 days, not 90, and there is no way to get around that. That waiting period is mandated by ICANN, the organisation that regulates all domains on the internet, and is a fraud prevention measure that you’ll get with any domain registered with any registrar.

If I restore the domain you can point it to Bluehost until the 60 days are over, or you can wait for it to be released in a few more days, at which point you can register it as a new domain directly with Bluehost.

Also when I go to http://www.brittanyhewlko.com my wordpress.com site still comes up however when I go into the back end I have no domains listed.

That is because your domain is still in the post-cancellation grace period. During this period the domain can still work, but it will stop working the moment it’s deleted from our system.

Could you please restore it for me?

  • Sorry, I did not see your request on Friday as it came in after I’d logged off for the day. Your domain has now already been released, but that means it’s available again to register at any domain registrar you want to use. So you can now buy it directly from Bluehost instead.

I’ve also refunded the domain and Personal Plan portions of your upgrades you bought last week, as those weren’t refunded when you cancelled your Business Plan. You should receive those refunds within about 10 business days.
