Hi @christinavgerinou, can you share a few details about where you got the zip file? Is the site it’s from still online? If it is, here’s how we recommend exporting and importing:
https://transferto.wordpress.com/self-hosted-wordpress-org/As for the zip file itself, you would most likely need the Business Plan, as well as some assistance getting it restored. It likely includes plugins and possibly an outside theme; maybe even other files in the zip. We require the business plan with outside code:

Hi!! Thank you for your answer!!
This zip file is my brothers old website that it it offline now and we want to publish it again but we want the texts that the old website has. Thats why we want to open the html somehow… -
Hello there,
Ok, so do you have an XML file somewhere in the .zip as this would be import file.
If the files are HTML files, it’s possible to view these via a browser, but this would be offline. If you’re looking to just retain the text, then if you’re able to view it, then copying and pasting might be viable.
I hope this helps.

Yes I would like only to make a copy-paste of the texts…
May I send you the zip file to tell me how can I open it? -
Hi there,
Do you know what type of file is in the .zip file?
You can upload the file to your media library and we can take a look for you.
Thanks,

If you go to your dashboard, it’s under “Media”.
However if what is in that .zip file are PHP files like
wp-config.php,wp-settings.php, etc – then you have a WordPress directory structure download, not a valid export of the site.Does that .zip file also have a copy of the site’s database (would be a file ending in
.sql)? If not and if the site is no longer online, I’m afraid the post data you’re looking for would be lost as that information would have been stored in thewp_poststable in that database. Without a backup or copy of that database, you would not be able to recover any texts. An alternative would be to look up their former website URL via the Internet Archive – they may have a stored snapshot of their site which might have the text you’re looking for.

Your advise about URL via the Internet Archive it was the right one!!
Thank you very much for all your help!!! -
