I have a question! Is it possible for me to restore my old blog cecilielawal.wordpress.com? If not, is it possible to restore parts of it? Its a very important matter, so I would really appreciate it, if you could help me??

cecilielawal.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.You can’t restore it in whole or part. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled here and you can confirm by reading:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You may be able to locate indexed content in Google’s cache copies.

P.S. I just checked Google’s cache and found no indexed content. You have reached a dead end.

When I deleted my blog, I pushed the Export button, and now I have i XML file on my computer? But I can’t open it. Do you know anything about that? -
Don’t open it unless you are in a plain text editor or you will corrupt it!
That XML export file can only be imported into another blog. -
The XML file has the text and links to media – you can import it and get your text back (no media in an XML file)
If you do ANYTHING with it please make a backup copy and work with the copy – Please

PS- the format is not human friendly but it can be opened with a plain text editor as @TT noted above and you can also search through it for the text you want – but again – work on a copy

Yes, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a day. If it’s not completed by tomorrow, report back and we’ll get staff to look into it.

yes you wait – you should get an email when the import is done – depending on the importer load it can take a few hours – if it is not finished in 24 we can ask the staff to reset the import for you

I would find something else to do while I waited. That is because I know there are many threads waiting for Staff and they deal with threads that have the earliest dates first and move forward ie. first posted – first served.

I’m sorry, but deleted blogs cannot be restored or reused. Deleting a blog is permanent and the name cannot be used again. There are several warnings about this on the Tools -> Delete Site page and in the help pages, and you are required to confirm the deletion by email.
You can start a new blog by logging in to WordPress.com and then going to http://en.wordpress.com/signup/
With any blog, you can also use your custom domain with Domain Mapping upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

staff-blorbo – the OP has a new blog – I think the deleted one was somewhere else and they have a export xml file from the deleted blog – should not they be able to restore the text?

Oh, yes, the file should import. I don’t see any success or failure reports here regarding that though.
