Restoring content after domain expired
-
Help! I’m not remotely techie, but several years ago I managed to put together a blog to share lessons with other art teachers. A few weeks ago, in the haze of having a newborn baby, I didn’t realise my domain (hosted through GoDaddy expired).
My question is….is the seven years of content of my blog recoverable??? I have a new domain now….as my old one is now apparently owned by someone in Budapest :-(
Can anyone help this sleep deprived new mum? -
Hi there,
Your content was on GoDaddy’s servers, so your best bet, if you didn’t keep your own backups, is to contact them and hope they still have a backup copy on their servers.
Otherwise you can try looking for your site in the Wayback Machine – it’s a site that archives websites over time. You won’t be able to export your content from there, but if they have your site archived you’ll at least be able to copy-paste it and salvage some of your site that way.
