Restoring Domain?
-
Hi!
So, I was a little confused when I cancelled my domain registration last night, nearly immediately after purchasing.
I was reading different things & I read something that said that WordPress.ORG was a better option than WordPress.COM. So I stupidly cancelled the order, but after doing more reading, now I want it back. :)
What needs to happen to be able to recover the original domain I ordered? I had it last night & I realize it’s been cancelled, but WP should still have it for a certain amount of time. If WP can’t recover it, is it simply a matter of waiting for it to become available again?
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi there,
Do you want to use the domain here or somewhere else?
If you want to use it on a WordPress.com site, our WordPress.com Pro plan is required. So in that case, please buy a new Pro plan at Upgrades ->Plans and let us know here once you’ve done that, and we can restore the domain.
If you want to use it somewhere else, the simplest option is just to wait. In this case the registry will release the domain again in a few more days, and you should be able to register it as a new domain, directly with the provider where you want to use it by the weekend.
We can also still restore it for you, but you won’t be able to transfer it away from us until you’ve owned it for at least 60 days. If you prefer this option, we can send you a link to pay for the domain again.
Let us know which option you prefer.
I was reading different things & I read something that said that WordPress.ORG was a better option than WordPress.COM.
Would you be willing to tell me a bit about what you have in mind for your site? Then I might be able to provide some info to help you make the decision here.
I would note for now that on our Pro plan you can do 99% of what you’d be able to do if you hosted a WordPress site somewhere else, and at much cheaper than what you’d pay for a comparable hosting plan at another provider, especially considering the value-added services like real-time backups and support for the WordPress software itself that’s included in our plan by default.
Let me know if you have any questions about this :)

Hi! Thanks for the response!!
So, I’d like to keep the domain here.
Option 3, sending me a link to restore sounds great! I will keep it put for longer than 60 days!
So the site will simply be a landing page for a podcast. I’d like to post more detailed info for each episode, some images, etc. Nothing crazy at all.
Thanks again!

I have sent a payment request for the total of $18 to the email address on your account.
Once the payment is sent, please reply here to let us know, and we recover dreamseasonpod.com.

Great,
Thank you for making that payment of $18!
I’ve gone ahead and restored the cancelled domain for you.
When you log in to your WordPress.com account, you’ll see the domain.
Please note that you’d need to have a paid plan, in order to utilize the domain as the custom domain for your website.
Please verify your contact information, via the verification email just sent.
