Restoring Domain Name in Grace Period
-
On Decemebr 27th I cancelled my domain name. How do I restore it?

Hi there,
I checked and reddingwhitehouseflorist.com is now in a redemption period. The charge is a $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $18 we charge to renew the domain. Please confirm here if you agree to pay the fees and I will begin the domain restoration process along with providing a manual payment.
Please visit the support page link for further instructions:
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Thank you for responding so quickly.
Could you explain why my domain is not Included in the grace period window that allows me to reinstate my domain at no additional cost other than the renewal?
I have clearly made an error . I wanted to use a different site provider but keep my domain .
Since I am a novice I didn’t understand it all. -
Hi Darnell,
Please read the response from the Word Press Happiness Engineer to a question regarding the late renew fee of 80.00:
“Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about expired domains here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/
You do have a grace period of 10-14 days past your expiration date to renew your domain at the regular price without a late fee.
After that, the domain goes into redemption and a late fee of $80 is added to the regular price of renewal by the domain registrar.
This late fee is controlled by the registrar, not WordPress.com.
I hope that clarifies things. Let us know if you need our help renewing your domain.”

Hi there,
This only applies to newly registered domains. After a domain has passed its first year, it can go into redemption as soon as it gets canceled.
