Restoring Incompatible WordPress from UpdraftPlus

  So recently we changed the hosting plan for our WordPress-based site. Prior to the switch we had installed the UpdraftPlus back-up plugin and created and downloaded a full back-up of the site.

  So, now that the hosting has ended our site has reverted to a MUCH older version from before we got hosting, hence why we had this new back-up. The problem, however, is that standard WordPress claims to be incompatible with UpdraftPlus and so now I have no idea how to actually restore the site with the back-up files…

  Does anyone have any guidance here?

  Some further details. We’ve since moved from paid hosting back to the standard WordPress Automattic hosting, which apparently also means that using an FTP isn’t an option.

  Honestly this is an absolute nightmare…
