Restoring of lost page contents

    Dear Experts, I tried to change my Username, which was successful. But contents on some of the pages are deleted. Kindly assist me in restoring the pages. Thank you in advance.

    Hi there,

    Of what site and what username are you speaking? I don’t see any recent username changes for the WordPress.com account you’re using to post here.

    Changing a username for a WordPress.com account cannot have any effect on the content of any sites that belong to that account, as site content and account usernames have nothing to do with one another.

    Hi Kokkieh,
    Thank you so much for your assistance.

    I changed my username and display name from HomeBakerzSg to HomeBakerzUK. The change has taken place successfully.

    But the contents in pages like – Home, About, Best Birthday cakes and pops, mouth watering cupcakes and contact me – are all deleted.

    Kindly assist me to restore the contents please. I have built it in the last 5 years.

    Hi Akila, I see the problem: just a few of your menu links were hard-coded to point to the old site, which is now empty.

    Please remove the affected links, then re-add them, and you’ll be good to go:

    As advised, I tried to remove my Contact Me link and re – add it. It did not work.
    Kindly guide me through the process.

    Hi Akila,

    Go to WordPress.com > My Sites > Design > Customize > Menus and select the Best Birthday Cakes N Cake Pops menu. Scroll to the bottom and remove the Contact Me item by clicking on the red X. Then click on the Add Items button and select the Contact item.

    Hi Expert,

    Thank you so much for your assistance, due to which I have salvaged 3 of my pages – Home, About and Contact.

    But I am unable to recover the menus – Best Birthday cakes and pops as well as Mouth watering cupcake menu. If I try to delete, the whole lot is deleted and they are not found on the add item lists also. Kindly guide me to recover those 2 menus please.

    Those should be items in the menu itself with their own drop-down items, not whole new menus.
