Restoring Old Posts Through RSS Feed

Recently I had a disaster when trying to upgrade my version of WordPress. Although I restored my database backup and reinstalled my backup files, at this point in time I cannot log into my old WordPress site without receiving a long error message. But my question isn’t about that.

What I have done, since I was changing my url anyway, is rebuild my blog at a new url with the latest WordPress software. Since I could not log into my old site to create a custom WordPress XML file to export, I simply used the RSS link on my website to create an XML file which I could import. This restored the 10 most recent posts from my old site, but not all 90 or so. (Of course it didn’t restore my comments, but that was a sacrifice I could make.)

At this point, without the ability to log into my old site (although I can access the individual files through FTP, and can get into the SQL database), I am wondering if there is a good way to restore ALL of my old posts as an XML file. I have tried different RSS readers, but they all max out at 10–I assume WordPress set 10 as the limit for my site’s RSS? (Only Google Reader pulls all of them, but does not seem to have a means of creating an XML file.) What’s the easiest way to go about this?

Obviously I am not too tech-savvy, but any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks

Sorry, I don’t think you’re in the right place. This is the support forum for WordPress.COM. You need to be over at support for self-hosted WordPress http://wordpress.org/support/

    WordPress.COM or WordPress.ORG? The difference
