Switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

Hi there
Thank you for your reply. Yes I understand that it is easy to change but I made the mistake of activating it to view instead of previewing and I did not save the name of the original template I had with the logo and banner image header etc….. I need to get back to the original template but not sure how I can or if it is even possible?

I did not save the name of the original template

I used Google search and checked their cache. See here https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:m609rVNByoIJ:https://cancuntravel.wordpress.com/tag/xcaret/+&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca I discovered you were using a very old retired them called Fruitshake.
Though you can use a retired theme on a site you have used it on before, retired themes no longer support all wordpress.com features and the recommendation is to change themes
You can browse 52 White + Light + Two Columns + Responsive Layout + Custom Header Free WordPress Themes here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/two-columns+custom-header+responsive-layout+light+white/?sort=free

Ok I will do that but the problem is that it was customised with a banner heading with logos and all from the company and they do not show up and I do not have these images saved. they are years old. hence wanting to restore the original one and then save the images so that I can then update to one like you have suggested.

What I wish to do is restore that cached page. I think that is the only way. Is it possible?

The banner image https://cancuntravel.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/banner-blog-2.jpg will still be in your Media Library at http://cancuntravel.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php unless you deleted it.
If you did delete it than I posted the link to the image above so you can capture it and upload it again.

To restore the theme simply use the instructions I posted above for switching themes at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/restoring-template?replies=9#post-2773681 and type in Fruitshake.

I think I have done it!!! I used one of the themes you suggested and the image you restored for me. thank you so much!

I see that you have switch to using the Twenty Eleven theme and have your header displaying now. Best wishes with your site.
