Restoring your blog web address after you've deleted it.
-
I’m completely new to WordPress and created a test blog to try and see how it worked. I tried creating a couple of pages and making very minor adjustments.
However when I was trying out different Themes, the Live Previews looked absolutely nothing like the thumbnails that were shown. I thought the limited content and customisations I did were the problem. So after being unable to find a “reset all content to default”, I deleted the blog in the hope of starting again.
However now I cannot re-register the WordPress web address that I used. It says “Sorry, that site already exists!” even though when I go to the site it says “this wordpress address is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.”
It’s been 24 hours since deleting the original blog, so I hoped it was a time thing, but I can’t re-register that name again.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

There is no help. Deletions are permanent and irreversible, so pick a new URL. That’s why there are three warnings and an email confirmation.
Instructions for clearing your blog to start over are in the Support documents http://support.wordpress.com/

Is there any way of contacting WordPress staff?
I assumed deleting the blog would delete the content and free up the web address for re-use without having to contact support.
I need to re-use the web address. I have external domains using the same name.
