Restricted content on an otherwise public blog?

Hi, is it possible to have a public blog with a certain page that contains content that is restricted? I want to have a small password-protected area. Is that possible with a blog hosted by wordpress.com, or do I need to have my own hosting and download wordpress?

You can make either posts or pages private or password protected:
