Retain photo below Read More tag?
-
Is there a way to insert a “Read More” tag but keep a photo below the tag? So the post would look like this:
[first few lines of post text]

I tried to make a little diagram of the layout but the forum screwed up the text I entered. Also FYI I posted this question yesterday but the forum deleted my entire question and blocked replies immediately when I clicked ‘Submit’ although the headline still exists(!?!)
I want the post to look like this:
[first few lines of post text]

You can insert the more tag into a post once – only once. If you place it between blockquotes etc. it will not work.

For image alignment see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment
The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.
Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).
If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.
To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
<div style="clear:both;"></div> -
Wow. Just… wow. This extremely does not answer my question or shed any light on it.
Text alignment? Really? And that relates to putting an image below a More tag how, exactly? Where did I ask about inserting a more tag more than once? Hint: I didn’t.
My head is exploding from how off-topic this is. I wish I could express gratitude for the willingness to help but the willingness isn’t helping anything and just adds to the frustration. I don’t know what’s going on in this forum. I’m on about 40 other (unrelated) help forums and only here do I very, very consistently get non-help that is random statements vaguely related to the topic. Sorry but I’ve completely lost patience. I get it: everyone’s just trying to help but it’s ONLY on this forum and nowhere else that eagerness trumps actual, knowledgeable help.

The more tag is useable only once in any post. The purpose of using it is to publish only an excerpt of the post on the front page or main page for all posts on the blog. Is that clear?

I have been here for over 8 years and predate all support staff except one or two even being on staff. I also predate the existence of support documentation. Unfortunately, in your case, I wrongly assumed you might want to know more about how to align images and text.

you were given the answer you were looking for plus a bit more – but since you were rude I will leave it and let you figure it out
