Retaining CSS updates and updating site content
-
Hi! I’m new to WordPress and used it a few weeks ago to post an online portfolio. I added a lot of CSS configurations and was happy with the site. Then my free trial ran out, all the CSS went away, and I could no longer access the site as an admin or complete updates.
This time around, I’m not taking chances–I have my credit card on file and have signed up for Premium service. My question is, if I reconstruct my site, can I be assured that the CSS changes/access to the site will persist?
I’m sending these portfolios to prospective employers so this is pretty critical. Thanks!

Hi there. As long as your upgrade is active, the customizations will be visible. But if you let the upgrade expire it will revert to its original state. To prevent your upgrade from expiring you can set it to automatically renew each year: https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#auto-renew
It is also a good idea to save a copy of your CSS edits to a text file on your computer. That way, if you do for any reason lose your changes you can easily add them back again.
P.S. Letting an upgrade expire won’t prevent you from accessing the site. You should always be able to access your site’s dashboard here, http://whittark.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ regardless of whether or not you have an upgrade active and users should always be able to view the site’s front end here: http://whittark.wordpress.com/ The only thing that will happen if the upgrade expires is that your customizations will stop working and you won’t be able to save new customizations.
