Retire the grey admin bar
-
In the last few months, WordPress.com has made great strides in improving the overall design of the site. From the simplified posting interface, the reader and offering some incredibly well-designed themes, the whole site looks pretty great.
But there’s one unfortunate piece of ugliness that remains: the admin bar.
In 2013, having that grey bar follow anyone who is logged in down the page just looks archaic. It’s reminiscent of that awful blue bar on Blogger blogs, one of Google’s neglected children.
Almost everything else about WordPress.com looks fresh, but that awful bar remains, mocking otherwise beautifully designed themes.
In my opinion, it’s time to retire the bar.
