Retired theme
-
I have a blog that has a retired theme, Origin. Is it possible for me to transfer that theme into a new blog?

If you can’t activate it via the wp-admin dashboard of your other WordPress.com site then the answer is no. You could purchase the theme directly from the developers and use it on a site hosted somewhere else or use it here with a Business plan but that seems rather drastic when there are so many other free themes to choose from designed specifically to work well with the constantly changing wordpress software.

Thanks for your reply. The site is active and I want to know if I can copy it to delete all the posts etc to make it blank so I can use it for my next blog. Thanks.

@alison512480 Just to clarify, do you want to use this theme on the same WordPress.com site address? If so, you can remove all the current posts/pages/comments, etc., from that site by following this guide https://wordpress.com/support/empty-site/
If you have a lot of content to remove, you can add a tag MODLOOK in this thread’s sidebar to have Staff remove it for you. Let them know that you agree to have them empty your site and that you understand that once emptied, the content cannot be recovered.
If you mean you want to use the Origin theme on a different WordPress.com site address instead, then, as @themagicrobot said, check at your site’s WP admin>Appearance> Themes (mysite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?search=origin) to see if it is available for use.
