Retrieve deleted wordpress URL?
-
I decided to change the name of this blog, without knowing I could change the URL in General Settings, so I went ahead and created a NEW blog with the NEW URL that I wanted.
However, when I discovered I COULD change the old blog URL under General Settings (without the need of having to rewrite all of my draft posts), I decided to delete the NEW URL thinking it would ‘free it up’ and I could make the change under general settings of my old blog.
Turns out, once you delete it, you don’t in fact ‘free it up’ for it to be recycled? Is that right?
Have I ruined my only change of having the blog name that I wanted within the space of 5 mins?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh no! You ignored the warnings. You cannot register any deleted blog URL. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

I didn’t ignore the warnings.
It wasn’t clear that I wouldn’t get the URL back, it just stated that the blog wouldn’t be retrieved back.
But surely I ‘owned’ it – WP can see that – all of what, 5 mins. While I tried to work out how to change the URL.

I desperately wanted that specific URL to get me started. I am not ready for domain mapping yet.
It’s so hard, and I am so frustrated. After finally picking a topic and really getting motivated with content ideas and a vision – it’s taken YEARS to get to this point. That this happens. all because ‘blog’ means ‘url’ instead of content within it.

7. The final option on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.

From: https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/Will you please provide the URL for the deleted site?

Eugh. My bad. Sorry! Well I guess I deserved it… Rushing and way too excited to get going. It’s what happens when you are productive after years of procasination.
Totally out of the comfort zone, apparently that is where the magic happens(!)
It’s was simply Modoccan.wordpress.com
-
I’m sorry but it’s gone forever.
https://modoccan.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site. -
Can I put a request into support to retrieve it? Technically it’s possible. And from an Ownership perspective I totally give permission for it to be brought back to life!!!?!

Please understand that there will be no magic. You will not succeed no matter how many times you ask.
If Staff were to start doing that then I would be at the top of the very long list of those who failed to read instructions carefully because I would want this URL back http://timethief.wordpress.com.
