Retrieve Domain Name

    I started a blog with the domain name ‘americanrevelation.wordpress.com’. I like this domain name, but I deleted the first site I made because I didn’t like the theme and decided to just start over from scratch. Now when I made a new site it wouldn’t let me use this domain. Can you help me? It also apparently says my old website is linked to another WordPress account but I don’t remember very having an account other than this one. Thanks!

    Oops! The deletion tool should have had some warnings about how deleting does not free up the address. Can you let us know whether you saw those? We’re hoping to help folks not make that mistake.

    I was able to restore the site for you since it was recently deleted.

    Have you tried just changing the theme, and then editing the pages as you’d like?

    You can also change the theme, then delete the pages and start over with them. Let us know if you’re getting stuck at all.

    Thanks so much for that! I honestly don’t know if it said anything about the name not being retrievable or not, but I probably wasn’t really paying attention if any text did say that. I just assumed the domain name would also be free for use once the site was deleted. Maybe you should try making a popup that people must read before deleting
