retrieve my website

    Hello, I have a wordpress website (www.salvatoremasala.com) but I haven’t renewed my Domain which expired on the 18th August 2022 (unfortunately the administator of the website didn’t let me know so I could not renew it). Is there a way to recuperate my website if I buy again the Domain and paying anything I need to pay to do it?

    Wordpress.com doesn’t have phone support so anyone calling claimng to be from wordpress.com is a fraude.
    Unfortanetely your domain http://www.salvatoremasala.com has been bought on 1 Oct 2022. When you let a domain expire there is no (legal) way to claim that domain again.
    If you let your hosting lapse, your hosting provider sometimes keep a copy for a few days or weeks, but at some point purges everything from their servers. If you didn’t make a proper backup, there is nothing recuperate.

    – I removed your contact info. Best not to share that publicly when so many scammers like to pretend to be us.

    – I did notice the domain status suggests you *might* be able to get it back from the registrar (the date is still tied to August 18, for example), if you reach out to them right away. It is registered through GoDaddy rather than our services, so you’ll want to get in touch with them.

    – You would be welcome to host your site here with us. We just don’t have any backups for you currently because it was never hosted here before. So in this case I’d recommend reaching out to your host to see what they have. With any luck, you can get the content even if you need to change domains.

    Basically we are hosting plus a bunch of other services and features included, like spam blocking, security, maintenance, backups, etc. We also limit what can be installed on the cheaper plans so we can provide our extra services reliably at costs similar to “just” hosting. We aren’t the free WordPress software, but we’re experts at hosting it.
