Retrieve posts from expired Bluehost account

Can some one please tell me there is a way to restore a WordPress site that was hosted through bluehost but is expired? Bluehost no longer has a backup.

This is the host WordPress.com. If your site wasn’t hosted here but over on Bluehost servers then if you didn’t back up yourself the content will be gone. It would have been useful to share the site address. There is always the possibility that you could copy/paste some content from the Wayback Machine.

I am not tech-savvy enough to have understood that when I didn’t renew my bluehost account, it wouldn’t still be in WordPress. I thought BlueHost was just the one that made the website active and all my content was still on WordPress. I was sadly mistaken…

That is one of the main differences between here at WordPress.com and using some other host. If you had built a site here with a custom domain and failed to renew (unlike Bluehost) your site would have reverted to its underlying free address. Perhaps if you ever decide to build another site you’d consider hosting it here?
