Retrieving a domain

    Hello, I purchased my domain through WordPress.com, but wanted to transfer it to another site. I proceeded to cancel my domain through WordPress.com, not realising it would be lost. So I want to know how long it takes for the domain to be released so that the domain will be made available again? Can someone help me with this?

    Hello there,

    There’s no set time as when a domain would become available again, which is the case across the board with domain registrars.

    We wouldn’t recommend deleting a domain because of that. With that in mind, would you like us to restore the domain?

    Once restored, the domain would be subject to a 60 day ICANN imposed transfer lock, but it can be used with a different provider using custom DNS settings in the meantime.
