Continued (submitted by accident without full request). I missed the payment on my domain due to wrong credit card number, and somehow I missed the notification about it. My site is pending delete. I reached out to a WordPress expert who forwarded my request to retrieve my website on July 5th and I have yet to have any communication from WordPress. Wondering how I can check the status of my request or get in contact with a WordPress employee? I checked my spam e-mails even, thinking maybe I missed something from WP but I didn’t. Hoping to get some communication soon – and to be able to redeem my site! TIA.

Hi kristynjean,
simplyseasoned.org expired on 20th May 2018 and is currently in the redemption period. We can still try to recover the domain but an $80 redemption fee will be added to the renewal cost.
I’ve sent a payment request to the email address on your Account Settings page. You can pay there and I will start the recovery process by contacting our domain registrar once the payment comes through.
If you don’t want to pay the fee you can wait until the domain is released. Although please be aware this process can take 80 days or more and there is no guarantee you will be the first to register simplyseasoned.org again, so this is the riskier option out of the two.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Absolutely, I’ve contacted our domain registrar and will let you know when I receive a reply — this is usually 1-2 business days.

Hi kristynjean,
We have heard from our domain registrars, and I am happy to share that your domain simplyseasoned.org is now back and registered under your account.
You can access the domain from My Site > Domains page.
Hope that helps. If you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to let us know. :)

Thank you thank you!!!
If I needed my Transfer Lock to be turned off to transfer my domain so that way I can still access the back end if this were to ever happen again, do I go through you or the domain registrant (wildwestdomains)?

You would go through WordPress.com. There is more on that procedure here.
