Retrieving access to an old blog

  • Unknown's avatar

Hey just wondering how I can access my old blog sites. The email address I had for them does not exist anymore and the passwords are not working.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You may use this form to retrieve your account.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi there,

If you don’t have access to the email address associated with that account, then in order to regain access to it, we’ll need one of the following things:

    * A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/

    * The WordPress.com account activation link, which we sent to your email address when you first registered with us.

Please fill the following form with any of that information you can find:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

It was attached to two email addresses that do not exist anymore. I have no backup or two factor authentication. I took pictures of myself for two years and put them on that blog, and can show you other social media to prove that it’s me. But other than that I knew it would be a long shot.

This is impossible – a WordPress.com account can only have one email address at a time. What is the address of the site that you’re trying to access?

If you’re not able to provide the verifications we require in the account recovery form we won’t be able to give you access. We cannot accept information that is publicly available on social media or even on the site itself as proof of ownership.

It was attached to *one of two addresses, and neither options exist anymore. No I get that, I knew it was a long shot because I literally have nothing to offer as verification. It’s dfnoeloni.wordpress.com

  • If you aren’t able to provide an email from the email address with which the blog was registered, a transaction ID, or the original activation link, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you recover the account.

We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.
