Retrieving cancelled domain accidentally purchased under wrong primary

    Hi there,
    I purchased a new domain and accidentally purchased under a primary domain so was redirecting to that domain instead of being a separate domain.
    I read all the warnings of canceling and tried it with another domain to make sure it was still available after canceling.
    I cancelled the purchase soon after and tried to repurchase. It said it was available until I submitted payment and then said it was already registered.
    Is it possible to repurchase this domain in its own right?

    Hi there,

    The warning said it won’t be available again immediately. We put those warnings there for a reason.

    Depending on the domain and how much time elapsed between you registering it and then cancelling it, it can take anything from 5 days to over 400 days for the domain to become available again.

    We can transfer a domain between sites with the click of a single button. Getting back a cancelled domain, on the other hand, is a quite complicated process, and there’s no guarantee we can get it back, or that you’ll be able to register it again once it is released.

    Please confirm if you want me to try and restore the domain, careycollective.com to your account. Once it’s restored I can help you move it to the site where you want to use it. Also note that as you have been refunded for that domain you’ll need to pay for it again before I can restore it. Once you confirm I’ll send you a payment link to do that.

    Thanks for confirming. I’ve sent you a link via email you can use to pay for the domain again. Once we receive payment I can restore the domain for you.

    Also please let me know the *.wordpress.com address of the site with which you want to use that domain and I can attach it to the correct site once it’s restored.
