Retrieving content from an old domain

I cancelled my domain last year but I had content in their I would like to retrieve. Is there any way I can do that or is all lost?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What was the address of the domain? If it was hosted here at WordPress.com there may be an underlying free site still existing. If it was hosted elsewhere and you didn’t renew then it is most likely that all content has gone.

It was a WordPress site. Vulnerableleader.ca was the domain name

    It was a WordPress site.

I was asking if it was a WordPress.com-hosted site or a site hosted elsewhere made using the WordPress.org software as that makes a big difference.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Vulnerableleader.ca was registered again at GoDaddy Canada 30th January 2019. It is currently devoid of content and I assume it is now owned by someone else and any content you posted to that domain would have been purged when you didn’t renew.
PS: Anyone else reading this, remember to take a backup of your content before cancelling a domain if you ever think you might want to access said content again.

  • Hi there,

Vulnerableleader.ca used to be registered here, but not by the account you’re using to post here in the forums.

The domain expired in September 2018 and has long since been removed from our system. We no longer have any control over that domain, and have no way to help you recover it.

The domain has since been registered by someone else, so that person now owns that domain.

The content that used to be on that domain on WordPress.com is still available at the free address, vulnerableleaderca.wordpress.com. If you don’t remember your login details for the account that owns that site, you can find our recovery options here:
