Retrieving Data from a long defunct website
-
Hi,
I have an old blog that used to be sat on a dedicated domain but that domain has long since expired. It was dedicated to a school reunion event.
In talking with some of my old school chums about it, they asked if I could restore it. So, I have the database and I have the old site still sat on the hard drive (I also have backups of both) and what I need to know is how to go about getting that back up and running as a blog.
Clearly the domain needs to be changed and I can create an addon or sub-domain of a current FQDN, but what and how do I edit please? What else might need to be considered? Also happy to consider running this as an MAMP/WAMP type site on my laptop if that’s easier?
Many TIA for any pointers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
That depends on what was the site and backup created with.If it’s a WordPress site you can use the following guides to create an export file then import it:
If the site was built using a different tool or platform you can check if that platform is supported and how to go about it here.
Running a local version of your site may be a recommended first step regardless of the import method you’re going to use.
