retrieving discarded blog name
-
I started a blog in 2008, then let it go, but I’d like to use the name for a new blog. Is there any way to retrieve an old wordpress blog name (my own) to use again?

Once a name has been deleted it is gone forever. That is why the suggested solution is to set a blog to “Private” if you stop or loose interest for a while, that way you can always start using it again.
The WordPress.COM policy is once it is gone it is gone and they don’t recycle names either. There is more information in the Support doc’s, sorry I don’t have the link right now.

It’s not deleted.
You would have to email us from the address we have for the person that created the blog. Is that possible? -
Opps – guess I needed to do a bit more homework and check the name and not just click on the name which has a deleted blog attached to it.
Sorry about the wrong info – thanks Mark for checking for them

A spammer that can’t even leave a link to click on. Maybe there is justice in the world.
