Retrieving erased post

I saved a draft of a post using the WordPress app on my phone and that action erased a published post with a similar name. How can I retrieve the post that was erased? It was viewed & commented on by quite a few people. Now just an error message shows up from links to that post. Thanks for any help.

Quickly run your blog url link in Google or whichever search engine to see if cache still has it. Save it quickly. To see if you can get the original post & comments back, try contacting staff to see if they can retrieve it.

What’s the URL of the post in question? What SHOULD have happened is WP.com should have automatically made the URL of the new post Old Post Title 2 instead of Old Title.

Or quickly check the RSS feed or other similar sites that automatically pick up your posts to see if they have it.

Tried both without success. Thanks for the suggestions though. The staff is on a retreat for the week, but I will contact them as soon as they’re back. The URL was

This is the process I use to locate and restore a lost post or page. If your post actually made it into the datavase then you ought to be able to find it and restore it in post revisions or in your tradh (provided you did not permanently delete it).
