Retrieving old posts
-
I kept a Xanga when I was in college, and I just recently remembered it fondly. I haven’t put anything on there in several years, but I would really like to have my posts, even if they’re just in text or pdf form. Is there anything I can do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Get your export file(s) from Xanga and see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

even if they’re just in text or pdf form
For the PDFs if you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.

I got the export files from Xanga, but it’s taking FOREVER to upload into a WordPress account that I created solely for retrieving my Xanga posts.
Is there another option that doesn’t involve exporting the posts into a different blog site?

Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually.

Ok. So it gave me two files. Once I import the second one, will the posts show up? Or do I need to do something else to actually make the posts go onto the WordPress?

Those are the steps that I followed. I got through step 3 and uploaded the files that I downloaded to my computer from Xanga. But now the files are nowhere to be found on the WordPress site.
I’m feeling like an idiot here. Is there something I’m missing?
