Retrieving previously owned but deleted domain

  Hello,

  I had a wordpress.com blog with a certain domain (macieksmolka.wordpress.com), but didn’t use it, so I have deleted the blog. However, since now I’d like to use this domain again with my other blog, it says it is not available (even though the domain was used only by me). What can I do to retrieve the domain and change my blog’s address from ‘addsomemusicblog.wordpress.com’ to ‘macieksmolka.wordpress.com’?

  When you deleted your site https://macieksmolka.wordpress.com/ it was very clearly stated you would never be able to use that domain again; you even had to confirm it!, https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/

  Hi there,

  As you deleted macieksmolka.wordpress.com less than a day ago, I was still able to restore it to your account.

  However, you will not be able to change another site’s address to macieksmolka.wordpress.com. The site address change can only be used to change to a brand new address that has never been used by anyone before.

  If you want to use macieksmolka.wordpress.com for your site, you’ll need to manually move your content addsomemusicblog.wordpress.com using our export/import tools.

  https://wordpress.com/support/import/

  If you also want to move your stats and followers to the other site, let us know once you’ve completed moving your content, and we can do that for you. Just reply to this thread once you’re ready to migrate your followers and stats.

  Staff can restore any deleted site for 30 days after deletion, as explained in https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/#reverse-a-site-deletion, so please tag requests like this for us so we can help with this.
