Retroactively applying promotion
-
I just placed an order (the order number should be associated with my account, which is NOT the owner of the site — this account is an administrator of the site in question, and I am responsible for billing), but I forgot to apply promo code “RMN30”. As I understand, the code applies to new purchases and upgrades — I just tested it on another upgrade and it worked. Moreover, the way it works is that: (1) the upgrade credits are applied; (2) the after-credits subtotal is discounted.
Back to the purchase I made, the new plan price is $198, the upgrade credit is $30, the discount is 30%. Therefore, if I added “RMN30” to the order, the total would be ($198-$30)*0.7=$117.6.
When using the automated support agent, it informed me that promotion can be retroactively applied by support team. The charge has posted, so it’s impossible to adjust the posted charge now. Could you refund $50.40 to the original payment method? (The initial charge was $168.)
The issue was submitted to WordPress.com Happiness Engineers under reference number 8516236, but I haven’t heard back in a week. So I’m cross-posting it here.
