Return from domain to .wordpress.com

    My domain just expired, and I want to return to mywebsite.wordpress.com. Is this possible and how?

    Hi there,

    If you’re absolutely sure you no longer want the domain, you can cancel it from the Purchases page:

    https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

    Also keep in mind that any links you shared, for example, on Facebook, referencing the custom domain, will stop working once you cancel the domain.
