Return to home page

When visitors to my website click on photo galleries to view them as a slide show, and then want to return to the home page, they can’t, without re-entering the full web address. Is there a way to fix this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Clicking on either the header image or the blog title in menu bar (or the grey wordpress toolbar, as well) takes people back to your home page. If you go to Appearance ->Menus in the dashboard you should also be able to add the Home link back into your custom menu.

Hi, aware of that. Maybe I didn’t explain myself well. When people look at pictures in a full screen slide show there is no access to the header or menu. All you can do is hit the back arrow to head back to a previous screen, but this is pretty tedious when you have look at lots of photos. How do you set up your photo gallery so it displays on a new tab?

  • Okay, I understand. There does not seem to be an option to open it in a new tab if I look at the support doc.

Are you speaking of the gallery in your menu? I opened it, clicked on an image and it went to full screen. If I click anywhere on the black background (i.e. outside the photo itself) it goes back to the gallery page containing thumbnails. There’s also an x-button in the upper left corner which closes the full screen mode and pressing Escape works as well. Is that what you want to do?

Bingo! So simple… Thanks so much.

  • You’re welcome :)
