Return to Home page when Custom Menu contains a category item.
-
On my test blog, using Twenty Twelve theme, I have applied categories to some posts e.g ‘Cats’, there are other posts which are uncategorised. There is also an About page. I have created a Custom Menu and About and the category of ‘Cats’ are menu items.
When first loading the site all posts are shown, as would be expected, on the home screen. If I click the menu item ‘Cats’ only the posts with the Cat category are shown, as expected.
My question is how do I revert to showing all posts (without closing and reopening the site) as there isn’t a menu item for the ‘Home’ page? That is get back to how the home page looks when the site is first loaded.
Have searched the forums without finding any clues as to the answer – suspect it is simple and I am just being obtuse.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Click the site title Debs and John’s Journal on any Page or Post in the blog and you return to the home page which by default display all your posts.

as there isn’t a menu item for the ‘Home’ page
There is. You go to Appearance > Menus and click View All in the Pages module: you’ll see a ready-to-use Home item. You select it and click Add to Menu; once it’s added, you drag it to top position and click Save Menu.
