I messed up the timepiece theme and can’t get it back to the original template

I checked http://lorettaellingsworth.wordpress.com/ and it doesn’t look messed up to me. Do you not like how the header image came out looking so big? You should be able to remove it by going to Appearance > Header in your WP Admin pages and clicking the “Remove Header Image” button.
If you try uploading again, you should get the option to crop. Or you could try just uploading a smaller image to start with.

All right. If you deleted a custom menu, then you would need to create a new menu to replace it. I checked your Appearance > Menus page just now and I see you have a menu called “Menu 1” and there are two items in it. To add more items, you might want to create some content first such as additional pages.
If you’re still having trouble with menus, let me know what kind of menu items you want to add and I will try to help guide you.
