Reusable block ERROR!
-
I didn’t realize creating a reusable block meant when I edited it on the About page it would also change in on the Services page. I just lost an entire day’s written content. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN RETRIEVE IT!?

Hi there:
You can read how to restore a previous version of your content in a Reusable Block here:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/#restore-a-previous-revision
In the future, the Reusable Blocks will save you a lot of time if you’re repeatedly adding the same content to the same block or group of blocks over and over. It’s not meant to be used as a template for unique content as any changes to the Reusable Block will be reflected across all pages that use that block (as you discovered).
I hope that helps!

Hi there!
I’ve learnt the hard way also!!
So, there’s a way to retrieve work and this is by going through the revisions.
In your edit page, go to the gear icon (settings) and scroll down to (number)revisions.
The number will show how many revisions you’ve saved and surely one of them will show your work.
On the other hand, when you want to create a reusable block, and edit it, try this: (not sure if this is THE way, but works for me)
1. Create the reusable block and save it.
2. Add the reusable block, but before editing, click on the three dots and choose, convert to regular block.
3. Now you can edit without changing the original one.Hope this helps!

Thanks you two! I was able to find the html coding with my written content in the revisions yesterday and restored it, and save correctly to not change the reusable block on different pages. I appreciate your replies and recommendations.
