reusable blocks

reusable blocks, my site shows 2 as published, but also no blocks found. also i cannot save reusable blocks. this feature works on all of my sites perfectly
all except amakeroommakeroom.wordpress.com , which is the site i use the most. i can create and save reusable blocks – they just are not found.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I checked your account and see the ability to save the reusable blocks, but I also do not see any saved at the moment. What were the blocks on your site that you wanted to save for reuse?

I can create and save blocks. But then cannot find them after. They show as published but also no blocks found if I go to manage all reusable blocks page . Create a block and try using it in a draft post, you will see what i mean
The reusable option does not show at the bottom of add blocks.
It all works fine on my other sites all on the same account.

Thanks for those details. Have you cleared the browser cache lately?
Try giving that a try to see if the reusable block option works. Write back with an update. Thank you :)

I have tried 3 browsers and 4 different computers both windows and Linux. All encounter the same problem. it works fine on my other WP sites in the same browsing session, as soon as i switch sites – makeroom does not work. this has gone on since a block created a recurring loop, a few days ago. before that it worked perfectly.

I can create a block – and save it – but as soon as i create a new post – the reusable block option doesnt appear. I have left 2 draft posts, which you can possibly as admins see? there is also a screen shot to aid

As i have multiple sites – i created a reusable block on one saved it created a new post and used the block – switching site – not leaving WP, in my makeroom site the exact same process does not work. I am using the create a ruseable block section correctly – it just fails on make room.
it should not be possibly to create a reusable block that gets into a loop, but I somehow did, it was late and i clicked the wrong thing.
I am just a user – grateful too, but it seems there is a bit of a bug. -
You mentioned a screenshot, would you please add that to the site’s Media library so we can take a look?

I made a new reusable block on the Make Room site. It’s called
testing reusable blockPlease take a look at this draft post: https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/makeroommakeroom.wordpress.com/4661
Add a new block to it, scroll to the bottom of that list to find the reusable option. It saved and is working for me.
I was unable to populate the testing reusable block on your other draft posts, though.
The next step is for me to try and replicate it the behavior on my own testing site. I’ll report back.

Thank you . I found it. you if you try and create a new post you can’t add the block to that either. The reusable option at the bottom is missing.

I’m being prompted to save a new one, there’s no record of the old.
I did go ahead and clear the site’s cache as well which has made no difference. Will report back with more information after testing on my own site.

On my test site I am able to create and save a reusable block that populates all through out the site. Existing posts and pages. New posts and pages.
It seems to be isolated to your site (or account). I’ve not found any other reports of this problem.

You now have seen the problem I encounter

I believe when I created a group in a block whilst editing the block I set up a loop as it had brackets in brackets. Possibly I added the block to itself by mistake. I have only just started using the new editor. Lol broke it quickly.On the right of my screen I get an option to manage all reusable blocks which when clicked shows no blocks found but also blocks published.

it only effects the one site the others on my account work normally.
Makeroom is the site i publish on the most though, i tested on another, to avoid mistakes then made a mistake.
probably needs some thing clearing or resetting on the database – beyond anything I understand.

Does that block still exist on your site, and if so, can you link us to the post/page where it was added?
Or otherwise, do you remember the exact steps you followed to cause this? If we know exactly what you did, we might be able to replicate it, and that would enable our developers to track down the cause.

I cannot see which blocks exist that is part of the problem. Please feel free to delete them all if possible
only some of the last 6 posts had the reusable block in. I removed them all hoping it would sort the problem. I had only just switched to the new editor a couple of weeks.
I was creating a few footers. A thanks for reading why not subscribe block. I had added the ” recent posts ” block. I had grouped a few items. I have no idea what the group feature does lol.
I moved up a block from lower down the post.
A section got in a loop brackets in brackets. My browser was non responsive. So I closed it and went to bed.

I was tinkering and broke it very easily. It’s not a huge problem if it can’t be sorted. I just wanted to make people aware it’s a bit buggy.

Excellent, so at least that works. Worse-case scenario, you can work with them in the Dashboard.
And I can confirm that when I try to visit https://wordpress.com/types/wp_block/makeroommakeroom.wordpress.com it is a completely blank screen.
I’m wondering if there’s maybe a particular block that’s killing this. Would you be ok with removing all of the reusable blocks at https://makeroommakeroom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=wp_block to see if that fixes https://wordpress.com/types/wp_block/makeroommakeroom.wordpress.com ?
