Reusable Blocks and Deletion of Posts
-
I was trying to publish a post and I wanted to put a reusable block in it. However I managed to include all the content from my new post in the reusable block, which affected my other post with this reusable block. I then had both posts open and tried to rectify this error. I had several difficulties in doing this, which seemed to progressively get worse as I tried to fix them. At first, it was just the embedding of my most recent post in a previous post, but nothing I tried was actually working. I then decided to copy and paste the text from the reusable block into a Word Document so that I could delete the reusable block and continue without one. I then saw that both posts that I was trying to fix had disappeared completely. This has happened to all 53 of my posts, and I can’t access them in the post editor (it takes ages to load and no editor appears when it does load) or on my site.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it has, what have you done to resolve it?
Thank you,

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out to us at WordPress.com for help with this. I’ve emailed your regarding this issue and will go ahead and close this thread.
The cause in this case was a Reusable block referring to itself, and causing an infinite loop that prevents your pages and posts from loading in the editor. You can remove this issue by editing the Reusable block (in code view) and removing the self-reference.
Thanks,
