Reuse suppressed domain
-
Hello all,
I did something stupid and I don’t know how to repair my mistake. I hope you’ll understand my problem as I am French…
I created a new blog using an existing login – I realized that it was not very useful in my case and that I needed two separate accounts. So I deleted the “new” blog in order to create a new account, with a different email adress, but using the same domain name I had chosen.
Now, the account/username seems to still exist, however, it seems that the blog name is not free anymore. I’m totally lost I guess.
Can somebody help me ?
That would be awesome.
Thank you very much ! -

Once a blog name is deleted it is gone forever, even from the original owner:

Thank you for your answer.
I’m just really bothered because I used my real name (I wanted to create some kind of professional blog-portfolio), and I don’t like the idea that it’s out there somewhere and I have no control over it… -
If you actually deleted it, it’s not “out there” and it will never be recycled. Nobody will ever use that again.

Please note that you can register a new blog and then purchase a custom domain and domain mapping for use with your blog so that the original ‘wordpress.com’ domain/URL is never visible to your readers.

In order for anyone to see the original name they must enter it in exactly and they all they will see is a “this blog has been deleted by the owner”
Depending on how long the original name was live and how much content you had it might show up in a search engine cache. At some point it will fall out of the cache and into the almost forgotten history of the internet and be very hard for anyone to find.
-
So considering it existed for merely half an hour, I guess it will never show up in search engines ?
-
WordPress is pretty attractive to search engines but the odds are good you slipped under the radar
-
Not necessarily. If what you published it went out on the RSS feed it may be displayed and if any readers tweeted it, liked it etc. or linked to it from their blog, etc. … it could appear.
-
Nothing was published, I just created pages on which I had not written anything before I (stupidly, I guess) deleted the blog.
Well well, let’s hope this doesn’t compromise my future ;)Lots of thanks to all of you, you have been really helpful !
