Reuseable Blocks Error
-
Everytime I save a re-useable block – I get an error page.
It says ‘The editor has encountered an unexpected error.’ and then displays three buttons.
Attempt Recovery, Copy Post Text and Copy Error

Hi there,
To confirm, are you getting this error on your http://projectbigeye.wordpress.com/ site? Let me know and I’d be happy to look further into this error your are receiving.
Thanks!

Hello!
Thank you for reaching out.
I am getting this error on Project Bigeye.
Thanks again!

Hi there,
I noticed you have quite a few reusable blocks. https://projectbigeye.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=wp_block
Can you clarify if the issue is with a specific one, or is the issue with any reusable block you try to edit?
Also can you tell us a bit more about what you are changing about your reusable blocks? You are trying to make a change that will populate to all of the places that block is used? Or did you have some other reason to edit those?
Thanks for the additional info!

My website is featuring missing persons.
Each post is a missing person case.
Each missing person has a police agency assigned to them. Each agency has contact information, which could change. Each agency has multiple missing persons therefore may be listed on more then one post. I put the agencies contact info in reuseable blocks so that I can reproduce it quickly and if a phone number or email changes, I can change it in one place instead of many. The error happens when I attempt to create/edit and attempt to save a reuseable block while on a post. I get the error screen, but the block still saves.
Mind you, I am using a very old laptop and my internet connection is horrible sometimes.
-
Thanks for this. Is that happening every time you add any new reusable block?
Would you mind us testing this on your site, and if so, can you create a private post with a sample reusable block?
-
Hello
It happens every time I create & save a new block in a post.
So lets say abc missing person’s case file is with abc police agency, and I don’t have that police agency listed in my ‘contacts’ yet, I will add them and then create a reusable block within the post for that agency.
If I save the block within the post – I get the error, but the block still saves normally. If I go to the “manage reusable blocks” feature and make it from there, I do not get the error.
If the block already exists and I need to edit it, I usually do not get an error. It seems to only happen when I new block is created.
I have no problems testing it. Can you explain to me exactly what you need for the testing?
I need to make a private post with a sample of a block?
Thanks again for your help.

Thank you for this. Actually I talked to our developers, and we might have it duplicated already. We’ll be narrowing down the issue, so if you want to keep doing what you’re doing, we’ll let you know when we have more details.

We will definitely reach out if more details are needed. Thanks again for writing to us so we could investigate.

Hey Guys!
Just wanted to let you know that I created a reusable block this morning and did NOT get an error. :)

Update: I have not been able to recreate my original problem and consider this issue resolved.
I am very impressed and pleased. Let me know if there is anywhere online that I can brag about you guys and this awesome experience.
Thanks again!
