REUSING OLD BLOG ADDRESS

  Hi I just deleted my blog to start my blog over.
  I did not realize it would mean my blog address is permanently deleted.
  I wish to use my previous blog address again.
  I do not need any content back.
  and it’s not like I’m taking another person’s blog url
  it was mine and I would like to use that again please.

  Hello,

  Unfortunately, as stated in the support doc:

  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address.

  And WordPress does not make any exception to it:

  Addresses (URLs) for blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this.

  It’s really unfortunate :( , but moving forward, choosing a different blog url name is the only option.

  You cannot register any deleted blog URL. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
