revealing an image in it's entirety on my wordpress site. please help.
-
Im a newbie, but getting a lot better at tracking down elements and changing their ccs to what I want.
Here’s the silly issue, on my CONTACT ME page, I have a image to left of a little icon ma pointing up to the right, I have increased the element size and the image itself keeps getting cut off, I have tried the OVERFLOW: visible, but to no avail. I like the size, just trying reveal the image.hoping you can look at my site and get me a solution? Ccs,
loving all you guys do to help.

Hi Bohne, it seems to be your negative top margin that is causing the issue. Also, I would make the selector more specific so it does not affect all left aligned images. Replace what you have with this and see what you think.
#image-7 img.alignleft { display: inline; margin: -9px 0 0 -40px; max-height: 220px; max-width: 235px; overflow: visible; } -
And actually, give the following a try instead. I changed some things so the image will resize properly when the browser window is narrowed and overrode the align left for the image.
#image-7 img.alignleft { display: inline; float: right; height: auto; margin: -9px 0 0 -40px; overflow: visible; width: auto; }Great job of customizing Oxygen by the way. Never would have recognized it. Good looking site.

Instead of the above I would suggest this:
#secondary { margin-left: -105%; width: 25%; } #image-7 img { margin: 0; } -
hi didn’t want to waste any of your time… I really appreciate your time.
Ive attached a screen capture of exactly what I’m hoping to accomplish, which I was able to modify as needed using your css code and an adjustment on the web browser which finally allowed the overview:visible of the element I knew was being clipped off. but I cannot for life of me figure out what the css is to add to my custom css sheet, each time I think Ive found it and updated it reverts back to being clipped off. hope this helps. thanks very very much for any help you can give.see link here >

I understood exactly what you’re hoping to accomplish. Please remove this:
#image-7 img.alignleft { display: inline; margin: -9px 0 0 -40px; max-height: 220px; max-width: 235px; overflow: visible; }and try my suggestion.

Thank you very much. can I make small horizontal increment adjustments as needed without upsetting you great code?
Many thanks Brother

You’re welcome.
I understood your original question, but I’m not sure I understand your new one! The code I suggested allows for a wider image simply by making the sidebar wider. You already changed my 25% to 22%, so if that’s what you mean by “make small horizontal increment adjustments”, that’s fine. -
thanks so much my friend, I played around with that and yes were all good. stay in touch, you’re awesome.
best help Ive had so far, I really always try and comb through help forums but your solution would never have to come to me.
total newbie….
best of new year to ya

You’re welcome, and happy new year to you too.
Re your praise, I have to note that the real CSS experts in this forum are staff members designsimply and thesacredpath: I’m not as experienced as they are, I just had a different idea in this case.
