revealing names and numbers of those who sign up to receive posts by email
-
I know of some people who signed up for email notices of posts (they showed me) but their names did not appear on the list of followers and the number of email subscribers did not reflect their presence. I would love to make this stuff accurate to see who is following and to show the true number of readers. Can someone help me figure this out? (Thanks! It’s for http://www.theyouthforum.net)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Email subscribers must confirm their subscription by clicking the link in an email that we send them. I just tested subscribing to your site both with my WordPress.com account and via email. Everything seemed to work correctly.
If you know of subscribers who did not receive the confirmation email, you can have them contact us and we can look into it further.
Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Oh. Thanks. Thought I had a fan there for a second. I know Amanda Brummell signed up and confirmed. I saw the post she received in her email. But that email does not register in name or number as one oft users and I never got notice of it. Why would that be and can it be fixed? Thanks.

By the way I received notice of your WordPress connection to my blog but not your email registration. So that’s also not showing up in me or number of my blog followers. Just like Amanda and I believe 3 others. That’s what I’m trying to fix. Does that make sense? Can anyone helps figure that out and correct it?

Hi there!
It seems like there may be a few things happening here. I’ve put in a request for the team to take a look at your follower counts and get those updating correctly again. Once that happens, we can delve deeper into those people who aren’t being listed as followers at all.
Do you happen to know the email address of any of the people who have followed your site, but haven’t showed up in your list?
I’ll update you as soon as hear back from our team!

Hi there!
So, we’ve forced an update on your followers list. The only change that seems to have stalled slightly was me following your site.
I’m still testing the email subscriptions for your blog. I’ve added several test email addresses of mine to confirm receipt of the confirmation email and follower status once I confirm. I haven’t found any inconsistencies.
You do have several addresses that are in ‘Pending’ status. If you have the email address of one of the people that did not show up on your list, could you forward that to me? Also, note that if the email address provided is associated with a WordPress.com account, they will show up under ‘WordPress.com Followers’ instead of ‘Email-only Followers.’

Thanks . One I know of for sure is (email visible only to moderators and staff) She gets the posts via email but her name does not show up on email. Probably not the biggest deal in the world, though I think there are others and it would be nice to have an accurate tally. Thanks, Ken.

Hi there!
So, it looks like that email address is associated with one of the users listed under ‘WordPress.com Followers.’ I know the difference there can be a little confusing. WordPress.com readers can subscribe to blogs via email just like non-WordPress.com readers can, but we list them separately to give you a better picture of who’s reading your site.
You can read more about follower stats here:

No, it’s not there — it’s not showing there for me. I’m kind of ready to give up. It’s probably just not worth it. Thanks for trying though.

I know this can be frustrating.
For security reasons, you won’t see the email address of your WordPress.com followers, just their username and the address of their main blog. I can assure you that the email address you’ve inquired about is on your list of followers.
Let me know if I can explain this better, or if you have any other issues with your site!
